Aeration allows your soil to breathe, promoting better oxygen circulation and nutrient absorption. Core aeration will pull 2-3" soil plugs from your lawn to loosen compaction and improve turf health.
Why do you need core aeration? The holes that are left behind from core aeration allow nutrients such as fertilizer, water, and air to easily reach the roots of your lawn. This access allows your lawn to grow larger stronger roots making it more resilient to winter conditions and hot summer months.
We recommend conducting aerations in the fall when temperatures are cooler, and the air is moister.
While aeration is a crucial part of your lawn's health, overseeding is equally as important. Overseeding involves spreading a seed mixture throughout your entire lawn to fill in any bare spots. This is best done after a core aeration as it allows seeds to fall into the newly created holes in your yard helping the seed to germinate much quicker.
Having a thick healthy lawn is one of the best preventative measures you can take to ensure weeds stay away throughout the season.
